Blackberries

Late summer brings blackberries to the Puget Sound. There are small native blackberries that grow close to the ground, but almost all of what you'll see in in suburbia are the invasive Himalayan Blackberries (Rubus armeniacus) like these in various stages of ripeness. While tasty, they tend not to be found much beyond the edges of the Green.
