About 30 to 40 Million year ago, the region that is now the Green was beneath the sea! The bedrock is made of brown/tan siltstones and sandstones that represent ancient estuaries and beaches. While the bedrock itself is not exposed in the Green, you can find fragments of it, such as this broken up piece of sandstone.
